January 12, 2011 marks the one year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. In 2010, we asked you to join us in supporting Children of Israel Orphanage rebuild in Les Cayes. In December we sent a check for nearly $2,000. Thank you for your incredible response. Sue Steege, our friend and DCE from New York who was at the orphanage during the earthquake, will be sharing this check with the orphanage on her upcoming return trip to Haiti in March. She shared this with us,

"Thank you so much for the donation to help the Children of Israel Orphanage in Les Cayes, Haiti. The Orphanage was deemed unsafe after the massive earthquake on January 12, 2010 and is rebuilding on a new and beautiful plot of land in Torbeck, Haiti. Your gifts will help to ensure safe housing for 30+ orphans in family type setting, where the children learn that Jesus loves them and their physical and emotional needs are met. You are making a difference for these kids, in Jesus' name. Thank you!! We found out that our January trip is postponed because of the political unrest in Haiti. We are disappointed, but hoping to go in March." ~Sue Steege
