Men's Winter Retreat

Our theme this winter is “I Am,” focusing on the call of Moses in Exodus and in the life of Christ.  “Who does the I AM think I am and how do I respond to that?”  The approach will not just be the traditional training for church membership and work but rather training to follow the I AM in all aspects of life. During our time together, we hope to sanctify the process of serving the I AM in the home, neighborhood, places of employment, and in the church.

Our speaker this year is Pastor Chris Reinke from Twin Falls, Idaho. Pastor Chris Reinke grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, attending high school at Concordia High School in Portland, Oregon. Chris graduated with an Education degree in 1965 from Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Nebraska and then from Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, Illinois in 1969. Chris then served at congregations in Frankenmuth, Michigan; Decatur, Illinois; Fairmont, Minnesota; and Anchorage, Alaska.

From 1984-2004, Pastor Reinke served as chairman of the Alaska Mission for Christ, working in the development of an extensive lay-led mission outreach to the small communities of Alaska. One hundred and twenty of these communities are being served in some capacity by the AMC. After years of distinction in the Alaska Mission for Christ, he accepted the call in 2004 to be the Western Regional Director of Missions for the Board for Mission Services of the LCMS.

Pastor Reinke now resides in Twin Falls, Idaho with his wife, Betty and is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Twin Falls. He retired in 2006, but He continues to teach courses, speak at congregations, and lead seminars.
