Men's Weekend

Ignore your cell phone (which doesn't work at camp anyway!) Play cards next to the fire. And start training now for the Pong-a-thon Tournament. Eat meat and relax for a movie night. Snowshoe and cross country ski or explore some of the best backcountry skiing terrain. Barrel down the tubing run! Snowmobile in the powder or on the trails of the Sawtooth Mountains - bring your own or rent one from Smiley Creek Lodge

Guest Speaker: CLINT LUTZ, pastor of XrossWay Fitness & Life Center in Twin Falls

Weekend Theme: STRONG MEN! Yes, perhaps Clint will have you doing a few push-ups... an arm-wrestling contest for sure!

Bible Study Preview of STRONG MEN:
Jacob wasn’t an easy man to bless. He was always wrestling to get things done his way. But his strength could only get him so far. Sound like anyone you know?

It wasn’t that he didn’t want God to bless him. It was just that he went about it all wrong. And that is why he is the perfect guy for us to study. Jacob is what writers call “everyman.” Reading through the stories of Jacob in the last half of Genesis, we get the impression that he is more sly and slippery than the rest of us. But at his core, Jacob may be the most typical person in the Bible.
One thing is sure, he personified the chosen people, Israel. From his famous wrestling match with God he received the name "Israel," which means, “God prevailed.” In our studies of the life of Jacob, we will discover just how relentless God’s grace is. Hopefully, we can also save ourselves some grief by learning how to humbly receive the blessed life God wants to give those he loves.
